Hyperion XP-1 Hydrogen Supercar Revealed Promising To Hit Over 221 mph with A 1,000 mile range.
California-based tech company Hyperion has just unveiled its Hyperion XP1 and the company does want to highlight the benefits of hydrogen as a standard EV and ICE alternative.
“The Hyperion XP-1 was partially designed to function as an educational tool for the masses,” said Angelo Kafantaris, founding member and CEO of Hyperion. “Aerospace engineers have long understood the advantages of hydrogen as the most abundant, lightest element in the universe and now, with this vehicle, consumers will experience its extraordinary value proposition.”
The layout lets the supercar hit 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in under 2.2 seconds. The top speed is estimated to be above 221 mph (356 kph). It’s all-wheel drive and has multiple electric motors to turn the hydrogen juice into zero-emissions power and, on a full tank, the Hyperion said the supercar will go 1,000 miles. And, that’s better than a gasoline car in terms of trips to the fuel pump. And the supercar houses technology that makes topping the tank off with hydrogen mighty quick; a fill up should take five minutes, the company promised.
More details will surely be revealed when the XP-1 enters production in 2022.
