Jaguar F-Type: The V8-powered sports car boasts impressive power, handling and style.

For the 2021 Jaguar F-Type, the designers were clearly aiming for a more aggressive, prowling, and assertive vibe. Jaguar also uses this new look as an opportunity to install a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and introduce a new V8 engine.

The latest design flourishes for the 2021 F-Type include a new, more aerodynamic hood, an enlarged signature grille, a new front bumper design and slim LED headlights with “signature J” daytime running lights. However, Jaguar’s design boffins were smart enough to leave the clearest identifying lines of the latest F-Type intact.

The new F-Type’s interior is now festooned with delectable monogram stitching and luxurious materials like Windsor Leather, Noble Chrome, and premium Suedecloth. The driver gets a new 12-inch HD digital instrument cluster with unique graphics. In the default display mode, the large rev counter sits in the middle of the display. The center air vents motor out of the dashboard cowl, while the pulsing red START button adds a theatrical sense of occasion as you start the vehicle. You still get Jaguar’s Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch center touchscreen, matched with three tactile rotary controllers for the HVAC, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the promise of over-the-air updates.

Jaguar has simplified the powertrain roster on the 2021 F-type compared with the previous model year. All engines still pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and both the V-6 and V-8 models have standard all-wheel drive to help better put their power to the pavement. A 296-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder remains the base engine and is available with rear- or all-wheel drive. A 380-hp supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 is the middle child, while a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 sits at the top. It now makes 575 ponies and 516 lb-ft of torque, which equals the output of the outgoing SVR model.

The P380 R-Dynamic with a 380-horsepower supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and all-wheel drive starts at $82,825, which is a major price decrease from 2020’s price of $88,325. The most powerful version in the current 2021 F-Type lineup is the R (an SVR is expected at a later time). With a 575-horsepower supercharged V8 and all-wheel drive, the 2021 F-Type R starts at $104,225, which is slightly more expensive than the $102,825 price for 2020.
