Lamborghini says the Performante can lap Daytona in 1:51.80, while the full-race-car Huracán GT3 EVO can do so in 1:46.40. The STO splits the two nicely, turning in a 1:48.86 lap.

It is a road-legal car with some astounding specifications. For starters, it has a 5,204cc V10 naturally aspirated petrol motor making 640 HP of power and 565 Nm of torque. For the first time ever you can get an RWD Huracán that makes as much horsepower as an AWD version. It weighs about 43 kgs lighter than the model it replaced, Performante. It is because the Huracan uses carbon fibre for 75% of its body panels. The new aerodynamic design plays a major role in the performance which we see. It reduces the drag and provides the right balance by giving an outstanding downforce.

According to the Italian sports carmaker, every design element on the Huracan STO works towards improving the aerodynamic efficiency and are heavily borrowed from the company’s racing heritage. The Huracán STO is the result of the collaboration between Lamborghini’s R&D, Squadra Corse, and Centro Stile departments with every line and every feature optimized to ensure the best driving performance. The bonnet, fenders, and the front bumpers of the Huracan STO are essentially part of a single part as a weight-saving measure. The bonnet features new air ducts to not only keep the engine cool but also improve downforce. The front bumper also gets a new splitter which directs airflow to the rear diffuser via the underbody of the car.

Lamborghini Huracan STO also makes use of carbon fibre for the cabin and gets sports seats, an 8.4-inch infotainment system with HMI (human-machine interface), and three new driving modes — STO for road, Trofeo for the track, and Pioggia for rain.
