Choose: Koenigsegg Jesko for top speed, or for track?

Finned, lo-drag version of the 1600bhp+ Jesko is Koenigsegg’s all-time quickest car. Koenigsegg is chasing 300 mph in dramatic fashion.

After Bugatti was first to beat 300mph with the Chiron Super Sport 300+, Koenigsegg has decided it too will enter the top speed game with a Jesko Absolut, with its fighter jet-inspired rear fins, smoothed bodywork and target of over 310mph.

The Jesko Absolut has a drag coefficient value of only 0.278 Cd. The low drag in combination with a frontal area of 1.88 m2 in combination with a power level of minimum 1600 bhp, make the Jesko Absolut destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it.

The company test spun the tires used on the Agera RS to 330 mph for a minute without an issue. “Michelin, when they were there during our testing, they didn’t believe their eyes. How kind our cars are to their tires.” Koenigsegg engineers will verify that the Absolut’s tires will be able to handle the speeds if the opportunity to test comes up, but Christian isn’t worried.

The Absolut’s price is still unknown, as does the number of units Koenigsegg will build.

Maybe that top speed is irrelevant.
But still “This is the fastest Koenigsegg we will ever endeavor to make,” Koenigsegg said at the car’s reveal.
