The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a one-off supercar based on the Chiron

Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, it joins the Divo as a derivative from the already famous Chiron hypercar. The La Voiture Noire is a modern reinterpretation of the Type 57 SC Atlantic from the 1930s and was built to celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary.

“Every single component has been handcrafted and the carbon fibre body has a deep black gloss only interrupted by the ultra-fine fibre structure. This is a material that has been handled perfectly,” said designer Etienne Salomé.

The $18 million Bugatti La Voiture Noire, earned the annual Italian automotive festival’s Design Award in the esteemed Concept Cars and Prototypes class.

If there’s one brand that can pull off six exhaust tips without looking like overkill, it’s definitely Bugatti. The full-width LED brake light strip makes the unique hypercar seem even wider than it already is, while below it sits an illuminated “Bugatti” just in case you might not know what you’re looking at. At the front, the horseshoe grille is more pronounced than ever before and above it the sleek LED headlights extend on top of the wheel arches.

16-cylinder engine is the heart of the car, displacing eight liters and developing 1,500 PS and 1,600 nm of torque. this power can truly be seen with the six tailpipes at the rear.

The bumpers are smoothly integrated into the body and the windscreen seems to flow seamlessly into the windows at the sides in the manner of a visor on a helmet.

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a modern interpretation of jean bugatti’s famous type 57 SC atlantic, which was only made four times between 1936 and 1938. as such, the coupe reflects the brand’s french heritage and identity. it also showcases the pioneering spirit, passion for perfect and desire to continually redefine its limits that has been driving bugatti for 110 years. although deeply enriched with heritage, however, there is not one element that hasn’t been designed for the future.
