Aston Martin V12 Speedster Is a Jet-Inspired Supercar.

Aston Martin has unveiled one of its most strikingly weird cars to date in the V12 Speedster. The limited-edition roadster will offer an F/A-18 specification, designed in collaboration with Boeing. Based on the Vantage, this roofless creation is limited to 88 units and will cost $950,000.

The V12 Speedster is powered by its 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, making 700 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. That’s mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic, sending power to the rear wheels. It’ll hit 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph — get some heavy duty headgear for that trip. The platform itself is made by combining elements of the DBS Superleggera and Vantage. It has 21-inch forged, center-locking wheels, huge carbon ceramic brakes and adaptive dampers.

Interior

The Speedstar cabin is a work of art and combines leather with chrome, aluminum, and even 3D-printed rubber, while a removable leather bag replaces the conventional glove box. Speaking of places to put your stuff, there are two more small cargo areas built into the twin humps behind the seats.

The car is painted in Skyfall Silver with lots of contrasting black elements, while the interior has contrasting red straps and door pulls and a number of F/A-18 silhouette decals. Despite the conceptual moniker, customers will be able to order their Speedsters to match.
