Apex AP-0 Electric Sports Car

The Apex AP-0 Is a £180k/$195,000 Electric Sports Car.

The Apex AP-0, unveiled in London on Friday, promises power, technology and connectivity. It will be built in the U.K. by a Hong Kong–based company, and is coming to the U.S.

The AP-0 concept is a closed two-seat coupe. Both bodywork and underlying structure are made from carbon fiber, with Apex claiming the car will have a weight of just 2645 pounds, nearly half of which is the floor-mounted 1213-pound lithium-ion battery load with 90.0 kWh of charge. The company says this will deliver a range of up to 320 miles on the European WLTP testing protocol.

The AP-0 is fully electric and it will be a pure rear-driver, with a 90 kWh battery mounted to the floor. It sends 649 horsepower to a single motor mounted in the rear. The key to its lightness is extensive use of carbon fiber; the monocoque tub and all body panels are made from the lightweight material, as are the staggered wheels and bucket seats. The result is a curb weight of just 2645 pounds, allowing for a 0-62 mph sprint of 2.3 seconds, and a top speed of 190 mph.

Brakes are carbon-ceramic with six-pot calipers gripping the front discs. The lowness of the body also allows for what are claimed to be ground-effect aerodynamics.

The car you see here is a concept and It won’t go on sale until the latter half of 2022. Apex does plan to offer this car globally.
