Airbus teams up with Aston Martin to launch the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition helicopter.
This stylish special edition of the ACH130 helicopter comes equipped with a range of four interior and exterior designs generated by Aston Martin which will delight helicopter owners and pilots who appreciate the pleasures of possessing and driving high performance bespoke luxury cars.
There are a few color schemes to choose from here including the “Stirling Green”. It features a painted gradient, fading down into the “Jet Black” shade on the underside of the helicopter with Aston Martin’s “Skyfall Silver” around the cowlings. Further external shades are available with other signature paint colors including “Xenon Grey”, “Arizona” and “Ultramarine Black”.
Inside, the auto-inspired cabin offers the sort of premium atmosphere you would expect of an Aston Martin helicopter with plenty of tactile elements. It is trimmed in black ultra-suede material and with a palette of leathers including an “Oxford Tan”, “Pure Black”, “Cormorant” and “Ivory” shade. The rear of the front seats feature the same brogue detailing as applied in the Aston Martin DB11, running down the center of the seat and the doors and trimmed with leather to provide passengers with comfortable touch points.
ACH130s destined to receive the Aston Martin Edition styling are built on the regular H130 line at Marignane in France and are then delivered to Airbus Helicopters UK at Kidlington (London-Oxford Airport), where they are completed with the customer-specified paint scheme and interior. They also receive a special plaque on the instrument panel before handover. No price details have been revealed, although the basic H130 has a list price of €2.8 million.
Beneath the ACH130’s sleek exterior sits a powerful engine: The Arriel 2D can provide up to 952 shp at take-off. The Arriel 2D offers a combination of new technologies including a new axial compressor, a new high pressure compressor diffusor, new material in the high pressure turbine and a new generation double channel FADEC.
Each of these special edition helicopters will have a plaque included on the instrument panel which shows the partnership logos, the registration of the aircraft, the edition number and the owner’s name, should they wish to have it included.
