The Los Angeles-based designer Max Hazan, one of the world’s most famous custom bike designers, has created the Motus MST ‘Salt Shaker’.
The build was a collaborative effort from Hazan Haas Racing: Hazan, and Bobby Haas of Dallas’ Haas Moto Museum. Haas had previously commissioned five builds from Hazan, and a friendship was struck along the way. The creators call it the ‘Salt Shaker’ because it was envisioned to be raced on the Bonneville salt flats.
It weighs 625 lbs but 150 lbs in that were intentionally added for better traction and stability. In typical Hazan fashion, the build is constructed around a fully-custom frame shrouded in stunning bespoke (partial-streamliner) bodywork. The bike looks like it is ready to be cast in a James Bond movie.
The engine was picked from Motus Motorcycles’ MST model and it is a 1,650cc pushrod V4 mill. Max also added a Garrett GT28R turbocharger to up the performance of the bike so it can go between 250-270hp smoothly.
There’s no information about max speed but it is known that the 180hp Motus MST bike can reach a claimed top speed of 168.69mph (271.48kph).
