California-based electric car company Lucid Motors has officially unveiled the Lucid Air, a 1,080 HP luxury electric sedan.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition will be the first to launch, bringing 1,080 hp and 2.5-second 0-60

The Air’s exterior hasn’t changed much since its initial launch in 2016. That means a low-slung fascia with what the company calls a “Micro Lens Array” system that it says is composed of “literally thousands” of “light channels.” They’re essentially really fancy, futuristic pop-up headlights that open sideways in a row. The rear of the car is adorned with a beautiful strip of taillights that extends to the sides of the car. Lucid claims a drag coefficient of just 0.21—0.03 less than a Tesla Model S.

The Lucid Air will employ dual electric drive units (one front, one rear), each of which is capable of producing more than 650 horsepower, but total performance of the standard model at launch will top out at 1,080 hp.

Inside, the driver is greeted to a massive 34-inch curved display that’s split into two sections: one for the gauge cluster and another for the infotainment. Additionally, there’s a lower centrally mounted screen for controlling much of the car’s functions. Lucid has set physical buttons and rollers for things like the steering wheel functions, volume, and climate controls.

Lucid will offer the Air in two trims: the Grand Touring and the Dream Edition. The Grand Touring gets 800 horsepower and the aforementioned 517-mile EPA rating. The company says it can get to 60 mph in three seconds flat, and run the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds at 133 mph. The Dream Edition gets the 1080-horsepower, 2.5-second 0-60 time, and 9.9-second quarter-mile, but has an estimated range of just 503 miles, or 465 miles if you option the 21-inch wheels. That variant starts at $169,000. Top speed for both cars is 168 mph.
