The 2020 Maserati Levante boasts powerful engine options and sharp handling, but it falters in interior quality and cargo space compared to class rivals.
With a length of 197 inches and a width of 77.9 inches with the mirrors folded. The wheelbase measures 118.3 inches, while height is 66.7 inches. The GTS version, or any model specced with 20-inch wheels, will have a height of 66.9 inches. Curb weight varies depending on specification too, with the base models weighing 4,650 pounds while the GTS with its bigger 3.8-liter V8 weighs a little more at 4,784 lbs.
At the front features a large Maserati grille with trident. Available LED running lights add sharpness to the headlights, which can be had with an LED matrix setup, while LED fog lights separated from other styling accents add width and boldness to the front design. The front fenders feature the trademark triple vent, while the large C-pillar exhibits the Maserati crest again. At the rear, the LED taillights are reminiscent of those on the GranTurismo coupe, while a quad exhaust is available on higher trims to replace the base dual-exit setup. Wheel sizes vary, from 19s as standard to 20s available.
While the Levante is not the quickest or the most powerful performance-oriented luxury crossover, it certainly plays one of the better soundtracks. Under the hood of most Levante models is a twin-turbocharged V-6 routing its 345 horsepower—or 424 horses in the S—to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. The GTS and Trofeo models come with a twin-turbo V-8 making 550 and 590 horsepower, respectively.
The new star in the Levante family is the 2020 Maserati Levante Edizione Ribelle – a special concoction of the SUV limited to 100 builds. Put down about $99,000, and you get a decked out, black Levante with:
