Sunseeker presents limited edition series in the memory of its founder.
British yacht builder Sunseeker International has announced that the first ten hulls of recently introduced Hawk 38 line will be part of a special limited-edition series, in the memory of Sunseeker founder, Robert Braithwaite CBE DL, who had passed away in March 2019.
Sunseeker describes the Hawk 38 as its ‘most technically advanced performance boat ever’, which is saying something given it has the XS2000 and XS Sport in its stable.
The new high-performance model will be capable of a leisurely 70mph (62kt) ‘out of the box’ with standard twin Mercury R400 outboards mated to Mercury Racing Digital Zero Effort throttles. The hull has been optimised to take advantage of the latest outboard engine technology, giving not only performance benefits but also low-cost maintenance for clients. For even more performance, Sunseeker says other outboard engines are available to special order.
The boat is optimised to run quickly but its underwater shape and construction should also make for a quiet and refined ride with the ‘anti-dive’ bow ensuring the nose doesn’t stuff itself into troughs in heavy weather. To reduce lateral pitching and increase comfort and safety whilst running at high speed, inflatable Hypalon 866 STAB® tubes are fitted as standard and provide the added benefit of built-in fendering for easy boarding and stability at anchor.
