Designed by French aerospace manufacturer Dassault Aviation, this three-engine heavy jet and its big brother, the Falcon 7X, are the only tri-jet business planes in production
More than 500 have been built since the Falcon 900 was first introduced in the mid-1980’s, attesting to its popularity and longevity in the competitive large corporate jet market. This bird has also evolved into several incarnations, from the original 900 and 900B/900C, to the 900DX, 900EX and EX EASy, and Dassault’s current flagship model, the 900LX.
The aircraft is capable of carrying up to 19 passengers in high-density, but eight passengers is a more typical number with two flight crew. The passenger cabin is 33’2″ in length, 7’8″ wide and 6’2″ high. Two seats can be fully reclined and can be combined to make a full-length bed. Alternatively, the jet can be fitted with tables and can be partitioned into separate rooms for more privacy. There is a full size galley with the ability to prepare hot meals and drinks and all the seats are fully adjustable.
The aircraft needs 5,215 feet of runway to take-off and 3,522 feet to land. It has a range of 4,500 nautical miles carrying 6 passengers and can fly from Paris to Beijing, New York to Moscow, or Vancouver to Vienna non-stop.
