In the late 1960s, Dodge was fight to keep up with the competition in NASCAR racing.

Their second generation Dodge Charger was a competent street muscle car, but it failed the on the track. To fix this, the team slapped on a nose cone and added a massive rear wing. The result was The Dodge Charger Daytona. It ended up being the first NASCAR to hit 200 miles per hour, hugely successful in its short lifetime, and is now one of the most valuable classic muscle cars.

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. It has gone under a complete 4-year Rotisserie Restoration all professionally done. This real Daytona was originally built in Hamtramck, MI as number #169 of the 311 1969 Charger Daytona Fastops known to exist.

Dodge Charger Daytona

This very, very rare A4 Silver with Black Stripe. It is one of the only 3 surviving Daytona’s ever built with this color combination. Inside, you’re greeted to clean all black interior. It also boasts a vintage A/C with vented dash and anti-theft system.

Originally having a 440-4V engine, it has been replaced with a new 542 cubic inch Hemi which was dyno tested and produced 635 HP. The block and all rotating components were nitride treated and balanced to racing specs including the diamond hemi pistons, custom hydraulic cam with johnson hi rev lifters and roller rocker arms, also has aluminum SR heads, and a hidden MSD ignition system. It runs on premium pump gas. The transmission is a 68 hemi gearbox mated to a brand new gear vendors 30% overdrive unit rated to 700 Hp. The Power gets to the pavement with a custom aluminum drive shaft and a Dana 60 posi with 4.10 gear.

The suspension is excellent. The car was lowered 2″ in the front and 1″ in the back by using Hostchkis suspension with UMI a-arms, and custom Bilstein gas shocks. It also boast 4 wheel disk brakes with ceramic pads. It has custom 17″ Billet wheels made to look like OEM mopar mags.
